JOSH WINIBERG is a UK based pianist, composer and producer who specialises in soundtracks, having composed for a variety of media. Projects which have used Josh’s music span video games, contemporary dance productions, theatre performances, and award winning films, with screenings at festivals internationally including Cannes.
Josh composed and released his first piano album at 16 – a collection of piano solos which received positive feedback from Ludovico Einaudi. As a result, he was invited to perform his work at the prestigious Ravello Festival, Italy.
After gaining a BA (Hons) in Music Composition from Dartington College of Arts, Josh moved to Berlin, where he began producing electronic music and DJing. Since then, Josh has released released numerous house and techno EPs, receiving play and favourable reviews from some of the world’s top DJs and electronic music magazines.
A new instrumental album, Change (featuring Alex Milne on guitars alongside Bergersen String Quartet), was released on 6th May 2017.
Since then, Josh has turned his attention to more traditional piano music, taking part in classical festival and competitions. He won the Southend Music Festival piano section, with three gold medals out of three performances, performing Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata (I & III), Chopin’s Fantaisie Impromptu, and Schubert’s Impromptu in Gb.
Josh is also active in musical education, tutoring piano, production and music theory, both on a private basis and as part of community outreach projects.
